Father installs WebWatcher on daughter’s computer, and software gathers evidence used to convict the child sex offender

A child sex offender has been convicted on all five counts of child sex abuse and is now awaiting sentencing, thanks to evidence gathered by the child’s parent using WebWatcher, the leading parental monitoring software from Awareness Technologies, Inc.

“I bought WebWatcher software and installed it on my 15 year-old daughter’s computer after becoming concerned about changes in her behavior,” explains the victim’s father. “I was quickly able to get enough information using WebWatcher to call the police, who then arrested my daughter’s 39 year-old hockey coach, who was later convicted using the evidence from WebWatcher.”

The victim’s hockey coach was having a full sexual relationship with the 15-year-old, and used email to arrange clandestine meetings with her. He denied all charges, but the prosecution introduced the evidence from WebWatcher, including the exact emails that proved the predatory conduct.

Detective Paul Kerr, who led the investigation, praised WebWatcher, saying, “WebWatcher proved to be a useful tool in this case and assisted in putting a child sex offender behind bars.”

WebWatcher was developed by experts in counter-terrorism software, and it is totally invisible once installed on a child’s computer. It is the only parental monitoring software that is fully web-based. This means a parent can remotely monitor and control a child’s internet usage using any standard web browser. WebWatcher not only records all emails and Instant Messages sent and received, it can also block any offensive or unwanted websites and applications.

“I was amazed that many parents know little about Webwatcher, and even our courts know very little about it,” remarks the father of the 15 year-old victim in this case. “But, I’ll be telling as many parents as possible about it.”
