– Undergoes rebranding exercise in its 50th year –

Mumbai, September 4th, 2008: India’s largest and Asia’s foremost leading integrated supply chain and logistics solutions provider Transport Corporation of India (TCI) today announced the launch of its new corporate logo and brand line. This year TCI has completed 50 years of service to the nation. It is a corporate brand that has mirrored the milestones in India’s evolution of infrastructure. The company which began as a ‘One Man, One Truck, One Office’ company, has grown extensively over the years, to become a full-fledged logistics company providing end-to-end logistics solutions such as tracking express delivery, supply chain solutions, shipping, amongst a host of others.

As part of the rebranding exercise, TCI has decided to adopt the new brand line “Moving together, growing together”. It emphasizes on the true collaborative spirit of the company management and its employees. The organization comprises of an excellent cadre of professional managers and a strong entrepreneurial set-up which has provided a significant competitive edge to the company in this ever-growing logistics space. TCI has been a prime driver in terms of ground-breaking initiatives and it has been possible only because of its commitment with its customers and stakeholders.

The new company logo has been given the spiral effect. It has been taken from the old Triangle to show the transition that has taken place in TCI, from being a trucking company to one of Asia’s foremost leading integrated supply chain solutions provider.

The color palette–yellow and black has been carefully chosen to reflect the philosophy of customer responsiveness and progress. The chrome yellow represents friendship, optimism, warmth and energy. This contrasts appealingly with the black shadows, which signify stature, authority and boldness.

To make investments in one single brand more efficient, the company has adopted easy-to-understand brand architecture. It has merged all verticals under the brand TCI. The transport and express delivery divisions have been renamed as TCI Freight and TCI XPS respectively. The verticals are now differentiated by their own colour code.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. D. P. Agarwal, Vice- Chairman & Managing Director, TCI said, “Success achieved over the last 50 years, is an outcome of the trust that our stakeholders have kept in us. Without their co-operation and support, the sustained growth would not have been possible. This year is of great significance to us. Successful completion of 50 years of “Moving the Nation” with our services, adding momentum to its economic progress and touching, though often invisibly, the lives of its people is a matter of joy and pride for us. We have revamped our brand and it gives us a great sense of pride as we believe that a brand is a living entity and it refreshes our identity. This is a substantial reappraisal of the business to show that it is modern, dynamic, and relevant and can build on its strong ethical stance.

“We aim to be an Rs 20 billion organization with the major focus on taking our supply chain solutions globally. TCIL plans to invest Rs 200 crores in the next two years for purchase of ships and trucks and construction of warehouses, besides opening offices in various countries across globe. We are also targeting to accomplish a Y-O-Y growth of 20-25%”, he further added.
TCI has adopted a set of values that is communicated by the acronym ‘CORE: Customer Focus, ownership, responsive and Empathy’. These values have been the driving force behind the stupendous growth that TCI has witnessed over the last 50 years. They have instilled a sense of belongingness among the employees, which in turn has contributed towards the development of the organisation. This tradition has been there for the last 50 years and would continue to inspire the employees in the coming years.
