Sprint Prepaid Division to Provide Relief to Pay-As-You-Go and Unlimited by Boost Customers in the Hurricane Ravaged Region
Boost Mobile, a division of Sprint Nextel Corporation (NYSE: S), today announced in a free text message to Galveston-area customers that the company will apply a $5 credit to all Pay-As-You-Go customers and a one-time monthly recurring payment credit to Unlimited by Boost customers in the region. Unlimited by Boost customers residing in the Galveston area are asked to call Boost Customer Care to obtain more information as to how they can receive their credit.
Customers from the Galveston and Bolivar Peninsula area on Boost Mobile’s Pay-As-You-Go service will receive the $5 credit, which will be automatically applied to their accounts and confirmation of the credit will be sent via free text message. Unlimited by Boost customers from the same area are asked to call 1-888-TLK-MORE to receive a credit if their payment due date falls between September 18-24, 2008.
“As scores of Boost customers from the Galveston area have been displaced by Hurricane Ike, we understand that many are still without power or do not have the proper access to replenish their accounts,” said Boost Mobile Vice President of Customer Management Kelly Owens St. Julian. “We want to help our customers get their lives back in order by offering a helping hand and assuring them that they will continue to receive vital communications services to aid in their return to normalcy.”
Prior to Hurricane Ike making landfall, Boost Mobile implemented a turn-key regional disaster relief policy of suspending traveling service charges of 15 cents per minute for all calls made by Unlimited by Boost customers outside their normal home calling area (HCA) during evacuations.
