SANYO Semiconductor (U.S.A.) Corporation (SANYO Semiconductor), a sales subsidiary of SANYO Semiconductor Co., Ltd., announces its intent to expand its foundry business in North America.

The semiconductor industry, constantly in need for more advanced and complex manufacturing processes, has seen incredible changes in its business model over the years. Particularly in North America, the foundry business model has emerged and grown rapidly with the worldwide adoption of the fabless business model. Today, the foundry market continues to grow and SANYO Semiconductor proactively seeks to develop its market position in North America while SANYO Semiconductor Co., Ltd. aims to expand the foundry business through a utilization of abundant process technology knowledge and state-of-the-art facilities in Japan.

SANYO Semiconductor will showcase its foundry process technology at the 15th Global Semiconductor Alliance Suppliers Expo & Conference which will be held at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, California on October 2, 2008.

At this all-day event, facilitating the fabless business model, key decision makers from major fabless companies and foundries as well as intellectual property (IP) vendors gather to exhibit their advanced wafer process and packaging technologies and IP.
