NexTier Bank named to “100 Best Places to Work in PA” list for 2008

NexTier Bank, headquartered in Butler County north of Pittsburgh, has been recognized as one of the “100 Best Places to Work in PA” for 2008. The Bank earned this distinction via a survey and awards program that identifies, recognizes and honors workplaces that most benefit the state’s economy, workforce and businesses.

This is third time that NexTier has earned a place on the Top 100 list, also named in 2000 and 2001. Since the list began in 2000, other winning organizations north of Pittsburgh have included Butler Health System, Celtic Healthcare, Giant Eagle, and Medrad.

“Earning our place on the Top 100 list underscores the pride our associates take in working here and in supporting the customers and communities we serve,” said Jennifer Roxbury, COO and SVP of Human Resources. Winning companies achieve the highest combined scores in a twofold evaluation: review of a company’s workplace policies, practices, philosophies, systems and demographics (25%); and results of an employee survey to measure the employee experience (75%).

NexTier will be honored at the “100 Best Places to Work in PA” awards ceremony on December 2 at the Hershey Lodge & Convention Center.

The program is a public/private partnership among the Team Pennsylvania Foundation, the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, the Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry, and the Central Penn Business Journal. The “100 Best Places to Work in PA” list is comprised of 100 companies split into two groups: 50 medium-sized companies (25-250 employees) and 50 large-sized companies (251 or more employees).
