Public May Donate to CARE Through Western Union No-Fee Service

Western Union, a leading provider of global money-transfer services, announced today it has established a Quick Collect account that will allow the public in the U.S. to donate to CARE for disaster relief efforts currently underway in Haiti.

Individuals and corporations wishing to donate to disaster relief efforts in Haiti may visit any participating Western Union Agent location in the U.S. and donate to the established Quick Collect account: HAITIRELIEF, WA.

Donations will be accepted and processed without fees for up to $2,500 over the next 30 calendar days. For questions on how to donate using this service, please call: 1-800-238-5772.

Just last week, the Western Union Foundation made a donation of US$25,000 to CARE to assist disaster relief efforts here in the aftermath of several storms that have recently affected the country.

CARE’s priority is to provide safe water to residents in Haiti and take emergency food supplies to affected communities. “Our priority is always to reach the most vulnerable people, including women, children, and people living with HIV and AIDS,” said CARE Haiti Country Director Sophie Perez.
