Document Security AuthentiGuard® Pantograph 4000™ Used by Boise® BEWARE® Meets October 1, 2008 Federal Medicaid Guidelines Requiring Tamper-Resistant Prescription Paper

Boise BEWARE utilizes AuthentiGuard® Pantograph 4000™, a technology developed by Document Security Systems.

According to the federal mandate for tamper-resistant prescription pads, papers were required to meet three criteria by October 1, 2008. Boise BEWARE meets all three characteristics required. Boise BEWARE is the anti-copy/anti-scan paper manufactured by Boise Inc. (NYSE: BZ).

The enhanced Boise BEWARE newest feature is a coin-reactive, artificial watermark on the back of the sheet. When a coin is rubbed over the back of the sheet, the words BOISE BEWARE will appear. This feature is not reproducible on a copier, fax, scanner or laser printer.

Boise BEWARE’s new tamper resistant feature enhances the product, which already included:
An industry-recognized feature designed to prevent unauthorized copying of a completed or blank prescription form. BEWARE has this feature: VOID, COPY or UNAUTHORIZED COPY appears when duplication is attempted.
An industry-recognized feature designed to prevent the erasure or modification of information written on the prescription by the prescriber. BEWARE has this feature: When erasure occurs, it is evident on the paper as ink is removed in the spot where alteration is attempted.
