White Sands Test Facility Will be First NASA Facility to Implement the RAPIDGate Program

Eid Passport, Inc., the leader in secure vendor access management, has been selected by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) to provide further security to its White Sands Test Facility in White Sands, N.M. The RAPIDGate® Program improves security and streamlines facility access for the multitude of private vendors, suppliers and contractors who regularly provide services inside secure NASA facilities.

NASA’s White Sands Test Facility was the first NASA facility to implement the RAPIDGate Program in August 2008. Vendors who visit the facility benefit through automated and efficient entrance to highly secure areas which alleviates waiting for manual ingress processes and procedures upon each visit.

White Sands maintains one external perimeter with separate facilities within, each requiring different access procedures and approval. The RAPIDGate Program allows vendors entrance to specific facilities within the perimeter based on individual authorization, further enhancing the security and efficiency of the ingress process.

“NASA facilities house some of the nation’s most precious resources and we’re thrilled Eid Passport was chosen to add that extra layer of security necessary to protect them,” said Steve Larson, CEO of Eid Passport, Inc. “In addition to the security benefits for the facility, the RAPIDGate Program will streamline access, saving vendors and NASA personnel time, resources and money.”

The RAPIDGate Program is already in use on dozens of military and government installations across the United States, including the U.S. Coast Guard, the U.S. Marine Corps, the U.S. Army, the U.S. Navy, and the Department of Homeland Security.

About the RAPIDGate Program

The RAPIDGate (an acronym meaning Registered And Previously ID’ed) Program provides a voluntary identity and access management solution for vendor, supplier, contractor and subcontractor personnel that enter secure facilities. It provides multiple layers of physical security checks including: validation of employment status, identity authentication, background screening, biometric verification and entry authorization verification. Access control personnel can process RAPIDGate credential-holders in seconds, which improves gate efficiency, saves companies time and money and improves customer service. One RAPIDGate Credential may be used to request access to multiple participating installations for even greater convenience, efficiency, and return on investment. The RAPIDGate Program already serves thousands of companies and tens of thousands of RAPIDGate Credential-holders who enjoy streamlined access into Department of Defense and Department of Homeland Security facilities across the continental U.S. and Hawaii. The RAPIDGate Program contains products and services subject to U.S. Patent No. 6,779,721.
