Dell Products And Services Give Rooms To Go Room To Grow
Rooms To Go, the nation’s largest furniture store1, has invested $1.4 million to standardize on Dell retail hardware and services to help manage growth at its more than 100 stores. Now celebrating its 15th anniversary, the Tampa, Fla.-based company continues to see burgeoning sales, with more than 4,000 rooms of furniture delivered daily. To keep sales rolling in, Rooms To Go installed more than 1,200 Dell OptiPlexTM SX280 desktop computers with all-in-one 17-inch LCD flat screen monitors used as point-of-sale (POS) registers.
Rooms To Go also purchased 700 Dell 1700n laser printers, which deliver fast, networked printing in a compact design and allow sales associates to quickly print product information to share with customers. The addition of a second paper tray for each printer allows Rooms To Go to use a custom sales form for sales receipts and a large capacity tray for product information. The POS systems include signature capture, card readers, sales terminals and 17-inch flat panel monitors and a shared laser printer. The sleek, compact systems fit well in the company’s room-by-room showcase environment and are positioned throughout the store to ease the buying process.
“We needed computers with the ability to run our in-house software and a sleek appearance to match the furniture in our showrooms. Dell systems are reliable, which means our customers won’t experience unnecessary wait time when making a purchase, enhancing the overall Rooms To Go experience,” said Rick Brown, Rooms To Go project manager.
