Talend, the first provider of open source data integration software, today announced a partnership with Teradata (NYSE: TDC) to provide real-time data integration for Teradata’s data warehousing.

Teradata Corporation is the world’s largest company focused on raising intelligence through data warehousing and enterprise analytics. Under the partnership, Talend will provide its open source enterprise data integration and data quality capabilities to users of the Teradata platform, increasing dramatically the return on investment of data integration for enterprise customers.

“Talend is the first open source vendor to provide enterprise-grade data integration capabilities and to offer a true alternative to traditional tools,” said Vincent Pineau, Talend’s vice president and general manager, Americas. “More and more enterprise organizations are building a mixed IT stack where several open source solutions are deployed in parallel with Teradata’s data warehousing architecture, ensuring the best price performance ratios. We look forward to collaborating with Teradata in this new partnership.”

Talend Integration Suite, Talend’s enterprise data integration solution, includes a set of connectors for Teradata natively and at no additional cost. These connectors implement Teradata’s high-performance load utilities including FastLoad, MultiLoad and TPump. They also natively implement the ELT (Extract-Load-Transform) architecture by which the database engine is used as the transformation engine for maximum performance and throughput.

“Since its inception, Talend has been making enterprise-class data integration affordable to companies of all sizes, at the right price,” said Bertrand Diard, Talend’s chief executive officer and cofounder. “Today’s announcement of this partnership with Teradata, the world’s largest company focused on raising intelligence through data warehousing and enterprise analytics, demonstrates without question that open source data integration is the right choice for the largest organizations running the largest data warehouses, which can now embrace the speed, functionality and scalability that Talend brings to data integration.”
