Stevie Award Winners to Be Announced in New York on November 14

Calysto Communications (www.calysto.com), a global public relations firm focused on the telecommunications, wireless and broadcasting industries, was named a Finalist in the “Best Entrepreneur – Service Businesses – Up to 100 Employees” category in The 5th annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business.

The Stevie Awards for Women in Business honor women executives, entrepreneurs, and the companies they run – worldwide. The Stevie Awards have been hailed as the world’s premier business awards.

Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word “crowned,” winners will be announced during a gala event at the Marriott Marquis hotel in New York on Friday, November 14. Nominated women executives and entrepreneurs from the U.S. and several other countries are expected to attend.

More than 1,200 entries were submitted for consideration in 50 categories, including Best Executive, Best Entrepreneur, and Best Community Involvement Program. Calysto Communications is proud to be a finalist in the “Best Entrepreneur – Service Businesses – Up to 100 Employees” category.

“Since its founding, Calysto has strived to provide its clients with services that are a step above the competition,” said Laura Borgstede, Calysto’s founder and CEO. “That’s why it is such an honor for Calysto Communications to be recognized by the Stevie Awards for building a pioneering new ‘distributed’ agency business model. We’ve used this model to assemble a public relations team that delivers unmatched expertise based on experience, not location.”

Calysto’s “distributed” agency consists of a team of 40 independent senior-level executives located across the country, each bringing between 10 and 25 years of experience in public relations and/or marketing to Calysto. Each team member also has at least 8 years of experience in telecommunications; more than 50 percent of the team has 15 or more years of experience in both fields.

In addition, Calysto recently expanded its international reach and now has in-market personnel in 62 countries in Europe, the Middle East, Latin America, Asia and Africa to provide seamless global PR services to its clients.

Finalists were chosen by business professionals worldwide during preliminary judging. Members of the Awards’ Board of Distinguished Judges & Advisors and their staffs will select Stevie Award winners from among the Finalists during final judging.

“Being named a Finalist in The Stevie Awards for Women in Business is an important achievement,” said Michael Gallagher, president of the Stevie Awards. “It means that independent business executives have agreed that the nominee is worthy of recognition. We congratulate all of the Finalists on their achievement and wish them well in the competition.”
