Unum Ranked among Best Employers in Maine

Unum companies make the lists in Tennessee, South Carolina and Maine

This week, Unum (NYSE: UNM) received a “Best Employer in Maine” award for the third year. The award recognizes companies that have established and consistently promote outstanding workplace environments. A total of 26 Maine businesses made it on the list and Unum ranked No. 3 in the large company category.

Earlier this year, Unum was recognized as a “Best Place to Work” in Tennessee and Unum subsidiary Colonial Life was named to the “Best Places to Work in South Carolina” list.

The award assessment is a two-part process designed to gather detailed data about each participating company. In part one, the employer completes a questionnaire and in part two, a random sampling of employees complete an employee survey. The results of the employee survey are 75 percent of the evaluation.
