The contest will be rolled out from October 18th till 30th across popular malls, college campuses and commercial hotspots in Delhi. Through this contest, SanDisk aims to reach out to music enthusiasts of all age-groups and create awareness about SanDisk’s comprehensive product portfolio including memory cards ranging from for mobile phones/cameras/camcorders and mp3 players. For the first time Indian consumers will be able to experience the power of high capacity memory cards that will enable them to explore their memory hungry digital gadgets (mobile phones, digital cameras) to its fullest potential.

Flagging off the contest, Manisha Sood, country manager SanDisk India & Saarc said, “Music is an important part of our lives and appeals to people of all age groups. This Karaoke contest gives us a great platform to reach out to the tech-savvy consumers who want to do more with their digital devices – store more music, listen to more songs and/ or even save more videos, ringtones and games amongst others. While the Indian consumer, especially the youth segment is increasingly demanding more out of their digital gadgets, surprisingly very few realize that with the simple addition of a large capacity storage card, they can unleash the potential of their devices to a great extent.”
The contest will run for an action packed two weeks in popular malls/market places and commercial hubs in Gurgaon, Noida and across Delhi. The activity will also be extended to popular college campuses and commercial hotspots in South Delhi. At each SanDisk booth, contestants will be able to select from a playlist comprising of popular songs from different genres of music including Pop, Rock, Classics, Bollywood, Hip-Hop etc., and record their rendition of the song on a mobile device with the SanDisk 8GB MicroSDHC/M2 memory card. The action will also be captured in parallel on a digital camera / camcorder with the SanDisk 8 GB memory card. Winners will be selected at regular intervals through the day at each venue and get to win a range of exciting prizes from SanDisk.
From amongst the selected pool of winners, 12 finalists will be shortlisted to participate in the Grand Finale will be held at the Ansal Plaza amphitheater on October 30th 2008. The lucky grand finale winner will win a trip for two to Dubai. All the other final participating contestants will be given attractive prizes from SanDisk.
SanDisk has partnered with Delhi’s popular radio channel – Big FM, 92.7 to create buzz and hype around the contest. The channel will host an entire evening show ‘live’ from the venue for the grand finale, where the selected finalists will also be able to meet with the Big FM’s popular RJs Ravi & Nitin.
