Symantec Executives To Keynote At Energy Security Council Conference
Symantec Corp. (NASDAQ: SYMC), the global leader in information security, today announced that John Schwarz, Symantec’s president and chief operating officer, will keynote at the Energy Security Council Annual Conference on Thursday, April 7, at 8:15 a.m. PT. Gary Sevounts, director of Power and Energy Industry Solutions for Symantec, also will speak at the conference. The Energy Security Council Annual Conference is being held April 6 – 7 at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas, Nev.
In his keynote, Schwarz will discuss the evolving threat landscape and the business challenges facing utilities today as well as outline best practices utilities can employ for cost-effective protection.
As president and chief operating officer, Schwarz manages Symantec’s day-to-day business operations and ensures that the company delivers products, solutions, and support that bring value to its diverse customer base. He also leads the company’s sales, professional services, marketing, and partner relationships.
Gary Sevounts, director of Power and Energy Industry Solutions for Symantec, will speak on April 7, at 2:15 – 3 p.m. PT. In his session, entitled, “Business Continuity through Effective Cyber Security,” Sevounts will discuss the challenges power and energy companies face in an environment with emerging information security standards and regulations. He will describe information security practices specific to the power and energy industries and offer strategies on how to achieve effective levels of cyber security for both corporate IT and Control Centers in a cost-sensitive environment.
As director of Power and Energy industry solutions for Symantec, Sevounts is responsible for the definition, introduction, and management of cyber security solutions in the Power, Energy, and Utilities industries. With more than 14 years of experience in information technology, including six years in information security, Sevounts brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to Symantec.
