New Community Lets Authors “Web Their Books”

The creative writing community rejoiced today as BookRix.com, the online platform and social network for writers, announced its public beta U.S. launch. This new social media portal enables aspiring authors to create their own profiles, get feedback on their own online “books,” short stories, poems and comics using an easy-to-use proprietary tool. Now anyone can create a book online, share it with peers and get feedback without having to take the traditional publishing route.

BookRix.com, a name originating from the cofounder’s affinity for Jimi Hendrix, is a social networking platform especially designed for the book loving and writing community to share opinions, offer reviews and find undiscovered authors. These “web books” can be easily distributed across social media platforms, including blogs and social networks as well as to friends and family.

“With BookRix.com, we see an opportunity to foster creativity in writing and provide an environment where authors and readers can share, critique and enjoy the newest books, short stories, poems and comics,” said Gunnar Siewert, co-founder, BookRix.com. “The traditional publishing world can be challenging to break into and BookRix.com offers aspiring authors a platform to promote themselves and help them begin a career in writing.”

Members can personalize their profiles through a sophisticated user interface and display their writing in a graphical, flipbook format. The books can be downloaded for easy reference offline and the user-friendly, horizontal layout makes reading enjoyable. Aspiring authors can visit Bookrix.com to create an account today and start sharing books on their blog, homepage or social network profile.

About BookRix.com:

BookRix.com gives writers the same possibilities that musicians found on MySpace photographers discovered on Flickr and online video creators found on YouTube. BookRix.com is the first social media book community that enables its members to visualize themselves as writers or readers and to easily upload, share and create their self written books and other creative writing projects online. The Bookrix.com leadership team includes co-founder and CTO, Alex Racic, who is responsible for technical development; Davor David Drezga, co-founder and head of strategic portal development and design and Gunnar Siewert, co-founder and head of marketing and promotion.
