Bersin & Associates Highlights Softscape’s Extensive Software Configurability as Key Market Differentiator in Latest Industry Report

Softscape, the global leader in integrated people management software, today announced that the latest Bersin & Associates Report, “The Essential Guide to Employee Performance Management Systems”, identifies the company as one of the most experienced solutions provider in the talent management market today. Softscape received the highest marks possible for core employee performance management, as well as for high potential talent identification, talent profile management, career and succession management, pay-for-performance, talent analytics, and global capabilities.

According to Leighanne Levensaler, Director of Talent management Research at Bersin, “Long before the term ‘talent management’ was in vogue, Softscape was developing and delivering integrated solutions for what it refers to as ‘people management’. This rich history and extensive customer experience are evident in the application suite and the company’s professional services capability.” Softscape received one hundred percent (100%) for completeness of its talent management platform, a testament to the industry innovator’s decade of experience developing integrated solutions to meet the needs of global organizations.

“We found the Softscape Apex application suite to offer very comprehensive performance and succession management functionality across the board. One of the biggest differentiators is the application suite’s configurability. After partnering with Softscape Apex® applications consultants on the initial configuration, non-technical customers can be given complete control of the design and modifications of their organizations, processes, forms, reports, analytics and workflow management. This level of control enables organizations to adjust their practices as the business demands without the need to re-engage with fee-based professional services.”

In addition to extensive configurability options, other key differentiators noted in the report are “inherent integration across all modules” and “advanced reporting and analytics across all integrated modules.” Bersin & Associates highlighted that Softscape is one of the only vendors with a Human Resource Management System (HRMS) bundled into the core talent management platform.

Softscape was also recognized for its above average customer references and superior support of global organizations. According to the report, “2008 could be called the ‘year of globalization.’” Softscape is noted as having extended sales, services and support teams beyond North America in an effort to support multi-national customers. Currently, over thirty percent (30%) of the company’s revenues come from outside North America.

Bersin & Associates is the only research and advisory firm focused solely on research in enterprise learning and talent management. The company’s WhatWorks® research and research-based services are designed to deliver actionable and practical guidance and to improve operational effectiveness and business impact.

Bersin notes in their key findings that performance management systems can drive a tremendously high return on investment. “In addition to hard time and cost-savings, organizations cite better alignment of individual goals to organizational goals.”

“Softscape continues to see positive growth across all geographies as talent management becomes more mission critical to organizations,” said Dave Watkins, CEO and co-founder of Softscape. “Our customers recognize the value that Softscape’s comprehensive approach to people management can create for their organization and their future growth. With our profitable operations, we reinvest a very large portion of revenues right back into R&D and ongoing innovation. Receiving the highest marks possible for core employee performance management capabilities, succession planning, talent analytics, and other key areas, is further testament to our market leading software and dedication to customer results.”
