Industry Visionary Continues Pioneering Innovation with Mobile Workforce Analytics
HR Technology 2008

At the 11th Annual HR Technology Conference & Exposition in Chicago this month, Softscape, the global leader in integrated people management software, impressed the audience at the conference’s “Talent Management Shootout” by demonstrating the first ever integrated talent management solution completely supported from a personal digital assistant (PDA) device. Researcher IDC predicts that nearly seventy five percent (75%) of the U.S. workforce will be mobile by 2011, and the total number of worldwide mobile workers will reach 1 billion in the same time period.

Softscape’s mobile solution proves that users do not need to be tethered to a computer to better manage their career, teams, and business results, and can complete complex scenarios in half the time of traditional web-based solutions. An industry first, Softscape’s innovative approach to solving global organizations’ evolving business challenges highlights the company’s multi-platform talent management delivery strengths and continued industry leadership.

“Softscape pioneered talent management before anyone else called it by that name, so I was pleased when Softscape agreed to participate in this year’s ‘Industry’s First Talent Management Shootout’,” said Bill Kutik, co-chairman of the annual HR Technology Conference & Exposition. “With remote and mobile workforces continuing to grow, and especially in this changing economy, the opportunity to work from alternative mobile devices is a strong option.”

Softscape was one of four companies that agreed to compete in this year’s event. During the program at Chicago’s McCormick Place, the audience compared demonstrations by the four vendors tackling the same problems in three different scenarios written by Kutik and Leighanne Levensaler, Director of Talent Management Research at Bersin and Associates. The Shootout scenarios focused on performance management, compensation, goal setting career development, succession planning with some elements of learning and recruiting.

“We were honored to take part in this prestigious event and welcome the opportunity to further celebrate our commitment to providing customers with the most comprehensive and innovative talent management solutions,” said Dave Watkins, CEO and co-founder of Softscape. “Softscape has raised the bar again for the next wave of Talent Management applications with mobile analytics that empower the distributed workforce. We are changing the way organizations manage Human Resources with innovative, real solutions for today’s workforce.”
