Seagate Increases Retail Presence in UK and Ireland

Seagate Technology (NYSE:STX), the world’s number one hard drive maker, has appointed CMS Peripherals Limited as a new retail authorised distributor. CMS’s 17 years of retail distribution experience and strong channel relationships will enable Seagate to further develop its presence on the high street by tapping into major retail chains within the UK & Ireland. The appointment is a key part of Seagate’s distribution strategy in these burgeoning markets and reflects the company’s continuing drive to increase its retail business.

“Seagate will leverage CMS Peripherals’ strong relationships with some of the biggest UK and Irish retailers to expand our user base,” said Laura McGimpsey, UK and Ireland retail business development manager, Seagate Technology. “Ultimately, our goal is to ensure more and more customers can have access to high-quality, reliable disk drive products.”

As retail authorised distributor, CMS Peripherals will be responsible for expanding the market for Seagate’s 3.5-inch external and internal retail disc drives, USB 2.0 pocket drives and portable drives, as well as future retail products from Seagate. “Partnering with Seagate provides us with a great opportunity to reiterate our commitment to our customers by bringing them world-class storage products,” said Frinos Constantinou, business development director, CMS Peripherals. “We are confident that the synergies of this relationship with Seagate will yield mutually beneficial results for both companies.”
