Avid to present three-day event incorporating new video-production programming
Remix Hotel is heading to Los Angeles for its annual, action-packed weekend of music-production technology, industry panels, and artist appearances. Welcoming Avid as Presenting Partner, Remix Hotel Los Angeles 2008 adds a new programming component—video production—to its successful format of audio-related demos, exhibits, and performances.
Providing hands-on access to the technology used to create today’s electronic and urban music, Remix Hotel provides budding producers and full-on studiophiles with the opportunity to discover new tools and ideas to take their productions to the next level. Complementing the technology exhibition, Remix Hotel features its signature panel series on current issues affecting the audio and entertainment industries. Presented by Avid, panels for Remix Hotel Los Angeles cover topics such as creating music videos, building a successful production company, making a living as a producer or engineer, touring, and more.
The participation of Avid—an industry leader in nonlinear video editing products, such as Media Composer, and owner of audio companies Digidesign, M-Audio, and Sibelius—is highly anticipated, bringing both a cutting-edge track record and highly influential presence in the film, television, and commercial production community.
“We are thrilled to have Avid onboard as Presenting Partner of Remix Hotel Los Angeles,” says Joanne Zola, group publisher of Mix, Remix, and Electronic Musician magazines. “A leader in the world of film and video production, Avid is an ideal partner to join Remix Hotel as it expands its focus in L.A. to include video—especially given our longstanding relationship with its audio group. The potential for growing the Remix Hotel audience and extending our attendee base is huge.”
“Remix Hotel has done an amazing job during the past six years bringing together thousands of artists in the creative community and providing them with a rich program for sharing ideas, project work, and technology insights,” says Carter Holland, vice president of corporate marketing at Avid Technology. “We’ve been a proud sponsor of Remix Hotel since the beginning, sharing the vision of helping aspiring artists achieve their dreams by connecting them with established industry professionals. This year’s expanded audio and video program in L.A. will inspire both the ears and eyes of all those who attend, serving up the most comprehensive range of master classes, workshops, seminars, and clinics of any Remix Hotel event to date.”
Remix Hotel Los Angeles 2008 also welcomes the following technology and media partners: B&H, Celemony, Clubplanet, Digidesign, Digital Content Producer, Electronic Musician, Ex’pression College for Digital Arts, Fusicology, iStandard, KRK Systems, M-Audio, millimeter, Mix, Music Marketing, Pioneer, Prism Sound, Rane, The Recording Academy P&E Wing, Remix, Roland, Serato and Stanton.
