KODAK Digital Newspaper Solutions Selected by Large and Midsize Newspaper Printers at 11 Sites Across North America
Newspaper Agency Corp. in West Valley City, Utah; The Press Enterprise Inc. in Bloomsburg, Pa.; The Appeal Democrat in Marysville, Calif.; The Orange County Register in Santa Ana, Calif.; Porterville Recorder in Perterville , Calif.; Tribune Publishing Co. in Lewiston, Idaho; Utica Observer-Dispatch in Utica, N.Y.; Liberty Group Review Atlas in Galesburg, Ill.; Sing Tao Newspapers in Toronto and Vancouver, British Columbia; and the Black Press-Red Deer Advocate in Red Deer, Alberta have all recently purchased KODAK digital newspaper solutions to achieve increases in productivity, reliability, efficiency and quality.
“Newspapers across North America and around the world are selecting KODAK thermal platesetters, digital plates, prepress workflow and other solutions for high quality and flexibility,†said Karen Mitchell, Regional Marketing Manager-Newspaper Segment, Kodak’s Graphic Communications Group. “Multiple newspaper printers purchased our solutions at the April 2006 NEXPO show in Chicago. In each case, these companies are turning to Kodak to help expand revenue opportunities while using technology to operate more efficiently.â€
Newspaper Agency Corp. added a third TRENDSETTER NEWS 150 thermal platesetter to produce The Salt Lake Tribune, which has a daily circulation of 131,335 and a Sunday circulation of 152,678, and the Deseret Morning News, which has a daily circulation of 73,501 and a Sunday circulation of 73,577. “We decided to add a third KODAK TRENDSETTER NEWS 150 platesetter because the throughput with the machine is extremely fast and the thermal print process is a major quality improvement over the conventional process we had been using,†said Bob Burns, Vice President Operations at Newspaper Agency Corp.
