iPhone Application Developer Achieves Multiple #1 Rankings in Six Top Markets and #2 in the U.S.;
Set to Present at This Week’s Under the Radar: Mobility Conference
Atomic Public Relations (www.atomicpr.com), the leading source for alternative PR energy, today announced it was selected as PR agency of record for Smule (www.smule.com), a premier developer of interactive sonic applications for the iPhone. Smule’s first four applications, including Sonic Lighter™ and Ocarina, have been launched to significant tech and mainstream acclaim, including multiple rankings as the #1 Paid Application in the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Holland, Japan and Spain, and #2 in the U.S. According to Smule, Atomic was chosen for its successful background in mobile, strong track record launching and building Internet brands and a reputation for generating major impact on reasonable budgets.
Smule will present at this week’s Under the Radar: Mobility conference in Mountain View, CA.
“Smule was unknown two months ago, and in fact, was only founded earlier this year,” said Jeff Smith, Smule’s chief executive officer. “Atomic has successfully launched our first four products quickly and with big impact, putting our new company squarely on the map. Our initial press activity, driven by Atomic, was syndicated internationally, driving our first product to a top ten application in no less than ten significant markets. Our latest, Ocarina, is now a #1 application in more than five important markets, and #2 in the U.S. store.”
Smule introduced the Sonic Lighter in September, allowing users to spread light over sound using the new Smule Sonic Network™. This Sonic Network now spans 3,500 unique geographic locations and six continents. To date, users of the Sonic Lighter have burned 1.7 MegaJoules of energy since the introduction of the product just a few weeks ago. Atomic has since supported the high-profile launches of three additional applications – Sonic Boom, Sonic Vox and Ocarina – based on their innovative mobile Sonic Network that extend the range of musical, physical and social interactions capable via iPhone.
“Smule is on the leading edge of development for iPhone,” said James Hannon, Atomic co-founder. “Not only are its first four applications just plain cool, but the company’s sonic networking technology and synthesis platform will allow its developers to push mobile apps and creative interactivity beyond what we can even predict today.”
This year, in addition to its ongoing work for numerous leading tech and consumer companies, Atomic has managed a rapid fire string of successful mobile product launches for clients Verizon Wireless, Dial Directions and Kinoma Play as well as for new Internet brands like animoto, Kidzui, Living Social and Mint. Atomic also handled recent programs for PhotoBucket in the run-up to its acquisition by MySpace, Linkedin in its growth from 8 million to 24 million members and Rapt prior to its acquisition by Microsoft in March of this year. In each case, Atomic handled strategy, positioning, messaging and corporate communications, product launches, developer programs and other related communications.
