Music Ally Puts Mobile Music On Trial, With Expert Witnesses Drawn From Across The Mobile And Music Industries
Mobile Music Charged With Promising More Than It Can Actually Deliver
Jeremy Silver of Sibelius Software Makes The Case For The Prosecution
Ralph Simon of Mobile Entertainment Forum Makes The Case For The Defence
Music Ally has announced that their latest event, “Mobile Music in the Dock”, is to adopt the mantle of a judicial proceeding. The digital music business consultancy will be inviting their audience to assume the position of a jury for the evening, and cast their judgement upon the distance the mobile industry has opened up between its glittering promises and the reality in the marketplace.
New services from Nokia, Sony Ericsson and others look set to reinvigorate the mobile music market. But mobile music income was actually down in the UK in 2007. So Music Ally puts mobile music in the dock and asks whether mobile music is guilty of promising more than it can actually deliver. And you can have a drink and some food after the event, courtesy of hosts Deloitte.
Jeremy Silver, of Sibelius Software, with experience across the industry including stints at EMI, Virgin, Uplister Inc and consultancy service Mediaclarity, will present the case for the prosecution.
Ralph Simon, of Mobile Entertainment Forum, a man considered one of the founders of the modern mobile music and entertainment industry, will present the case for the defence.
Expert witnesses include:
Paul Kenny, Global Head of Music, Vodafone;
Tim Grimsditch, Global Product Marketing, Nokia Music;
Mark Mulligan, Senior Analyst, Jupiter Research;
Scott Cohen, Founder, The Orchard;
James Bates, Media Director, Deloitte,
