Seagate Drives Supercharge Novell’s SuperLab
Seagate (NYSE: STX) today announced it has teamed with Novell to support its newly revised SuperLab facility. Novell’s SuperLab consists of servers and systems that enable real-world testing of software and hardware products for Novell customers in a real world environment.
The SuperLab is configured with nearly two dozen xSeries servers provided by IBM in various configurations, in addition to several blade and storage arrays. There are 1700 client computers connected to the IBM systems in the SuperLab. The primary disc drives of choice for these systems were Seagate Cheetah 15K.4 models. With the most advanced technology available, the SuperLab was built to provide customers with a wide range of testing options for Novell solutions for multiple deployment scenarios. Many of the largest Fortune 500 companies rely on the SuperLab for testing.
The SuperLab is based on delivering the utmost flexibility for its users. From single-processor based systems, to those that house 32 processors on one system, with various memory and storage configurations, the Novell SuperLab empowers users to test with equipment that they might otherwise not have access to.
