AmericanLife TV Network (ALN), the Nation’s only cable network devoted to the Baby Boomer generation, announces the web premiere of “A Journey To Darfur,” the highly acclaimed documentary produced by ALN, chronicling the historical trip of Nick and George Clooney to the Sudan border. The presentation on AmericanLife TV’s website, www.americanlifetv.com , marks the documentary’s internet debut.
“A Journey To Darfur” documents the continuing genocide taking place within Sudan. Described as the world’s worst humanitarian crisis, in the four years since the onset of large-scale conflict in Darfur, at least 200,000 people have lost their lives. An estimated 2 million more have fled to settlements for the displaced, including nearly 368,000 since the signing of the Darfur Peace Agreement in May 2006. Included in the documentary are emotional interviews with the genocide-ravaged refugees of Darfur, conducted by George and Nick and an exclusive interview with George Clooney.
“A Journey to Darfur” premiered on AmericanLife TV in January 2007 and has since been licensed to several international broadcasters, including The Community Channel in England and France 2 and is now airing on the web in its entirety.
“A Journey to Darfur” is also still available for $14.99 SRP exclusively through AmericanLife TV Network’s website and on Amazon.com. AmericanLife TV Network will continue to donate all proceeds from sales of the DVD to IRC, The International Rescue Committee, through “Not On Our Watch” (www.notonourwatchproject.org), the humanitarian project created by George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, and Don Cheadle.
