NVIDIA AND IIIT HYDERABAD ANNOUNCE INAUGURATION OF NVIDIA VISUAL COMPUTING LAB

Lab to provide students opportunity to learn and research on the cutting edge of graphics technologies
Hyderabad, India —November 19, 2008—NVIDIA Corporation (Nasdaq: NVDA), the worldwide leader in visual computing technologies, and the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Hyderabad, today announced the inauguration of the NVIDIA Visual Computing Lab.
The lab will provide the students and the institute with state of the art equipment, software licenses and the requisite know how to further the research in the field of GPU engineering and visual computing.

This lab will be a great asset to the students and the faculty as they delve in more and more research on cutting edge engineering as well as advanced GPU technologies such as CUDA. With the addition of this lab, IIIT Hyderabad will be able to understand, experiment with and harness the capabilities of the new CUDA parallel processing architectures. Part of the research in the lab will be focused on massively parallel programming and utilizing the explosive computational power of the GPU for exciting new fields such as keyword detection in videos etc.
