Pinstripe Publishing, LLC has announced the release of Blasphemy®: The Race to the Cross, the ideal board game for believers and non-believers alike this holiday season. The game pits competing messiahs against each other as they wander through the Holy Land performing miracles, giving sermons, accumulating followers, and receiving faith; in the end, the first player to get his Jesus crucified wins the game.

“On one level, Blasphemy® is a loving mockery of the simplistic good versus evil worldview,” stated Steve Jaqua, president of Pinstripe Publishing, and the game’s creator. The game features a rich artistic and literary presentation that includes a large plush game cloth (32” x 44”) portraying ancient Palestine, Faith tags, wooden Ministry tiles, storybook cards, 4 brightly colored Jesus figurines, a giant die known as The Holy Roller, and the requisite wooden cross with crucifixion platform. “Like Christianity itself, the production quality of the Blasphemy® game components are sure to last well over 2,000 years,” joked Jaqua.

Blasphemy® exhibits the same comic spirit, and inherent controversial underpinnings, as South Park (where Jesus has a recurring role), The Simpsons, and the most recent documentary Religulous. “We’d like Blasphemy® to trigger some smart dialog amongst the players, and at the same time provide a lot of laughs,” said Jaqua.

Blasphemy® is available now online at www.blasphemygame.com for a retail price of $99.99, with delivery worldwide. The site also includes photos of the complete game in all of its blasphemous glory.

Blasphemy® is the first project from the Michigan-based game studio Pinstripe Publishing. The company is at work on other game projects, including the upcoming Random Violence™.
