New Delhi, December 09, 2008 — Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext Paris and NYSE: ALU) announced a suite of portfolio enhancements for its large enterprise customers including key voice, data, unified communications and contact center product updates that make and save businesses money. Alcatel-Lucent customers can address the challenges of globalization with data virtualization, increased scalability and strategic centralization in the network, meet increasing user expectations with always on unified communication solutions, and integrate applica tions with business processes to attain the dynamic enterprise vision of aligning network, people, process and knowledge in order to provide an improved customer experience.

The new Alcatel-Lucent OmniPCX Enterprise 9.0 release provides a secure, scalable, centralized architecture capable of serving 100,000 users. The system’s session Internet protocol (SIP) controller and expanded standards-based SIP trunking allows easy, cost-effective adoption of new applications and SIP device management.

The new OmniSwitch 9000E has been designed for deployments requiring high capacity, scalability and virtualization with multi-virtual routing and forwarding, which delivers cost reduction through hardware consolidation and lower power consumption.

Alcatel-Lucent enhances productivity by equipping employees with the personalized tools and secure mobility capabilities with the Alcatel-Lucent OmniTouch Unified Communication Solution Release 5.1 and OmniTouch 8600 My Instant Communicator. These solutions offer multimedia, multi-session collaboration, mobile device integration, and support for third party applications such as Microsoft Office Communicator and IBM Sametime and Lotus Notes.

The Alcatel-Lucent OmniTouch Contact Center Premium and Standard Release 9.0 and the latest Contact Center Teamer application help enterprises provide superior customer service. These solutions provide flexibility and cost savings while improving resolution of first time calls by letting agents quickly access back-office expertise.

Alcatel-Lucent solutions also encourage more effective knowledge sharing internally and with customers, partners and suppliers through open APIs and third party integration, enabling improved productivity and cost reduction.
