Alcatel-Lucent announces the appointment of Sean Dolan as President, Asia Pacific region

New Delhi, December 11, 2008 – Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext Paris and NYSE: ALU) today announced the appointment of Sean Dolan as President of the Asia-Pacific region in replacement of Etienne Fouques, who has decided to retire early next year. Sean Dolan is currently Chief Operating Officer of the Asia-Pacific region. He will be a member of the company’s management committee and will be based in Shanghai.

Most recently, Sean Dolan was Chief Operating Officer of the Asia-Pacific region. Prior to this position, Sean Dolan was the President of North Asia. From 2005 to 2006, he served as Chief Operations Officer for Lucent Technologies China and as Vice President of their Product Management and Development (PM&D), based in Beijing. Sean Dolan joined Lucent Technologies in August 2003 as VP, America’s Service Operation. Prior to Alcatel-Lucent, Sean held various executive management positions in Europe and the United States working for multi-national companies including IBM, EDS, First Data and Ernst & Young.

Sean Dolan has an undergraduate degree in Marketing from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst and a master degree from the Stern School at New York University.
