Stonewood CEO, Chris McIntosh stated that: “This strategic acquisition will help to ensure that Stonewood remains the partner of choice in our chosen markets by constantly improving our portfolio of innovative and symbiotic products and services,”
Based in Ringwood, Lipco provides a highly skilled precision engineering service to Tier one companies within the aerospace sector. Heading Lipco’s integration into the Stonewood Group is Steve Everill, Director of Manufacturing who added; “Lipco has enjoyed an enviable reputation for excellent quality and service for the past 25 years. It is ideally suited to join the Group, where its market leading ability to produce the very highest standards of engineering will ensure that it continues to thrive.’
The Stonewood Group has seen substantial growth in its electronic products and services in recent years, and as a result is well placed to capitalise on the opportunities that are available from the Lipco acquisition. Both electronics and precision engineering sites will formalise their intention to continue supplying into aerospace by attaining AS9100 accreditation and by entering into the SC21 programme during 2009.
In the last 12 months Stonewood Group has experienced exponential growth: the company has added an operational and manufacturing division, as well as significantly expanding its Professional Services Team which delivers complex and bespoke encryption products to government and the MOD.
