Ingenico confirms its leadership in payment solutions, securing PCI-PED 2.0 approval for its exciting new range of ICT200 CounterTop terminals
Paris, 17 December 2008
Ingenico, the global leader for payment solutions, announces that its ICT200 CounterTop payment terminal range has been PCI-PED 2.0 approved. Launched last November at Cartes 08, the ICT220 and ICT250 terminals are the first of the ‘New Ingenico Generation’ portfolio of devices designed to take users ‘Beyond Payment’.
The new terminals combine outstanding performance and communication capabilities; the latest PCI-PED 2.0 security and the revenue opportunities from countless value added services in one unique family. Ergonomic design and a colour screen on the ICT250 deliver a significantly improved user experience.
The integration of state-of-the-art technologies into the chipsets of the terminal has created clear competitive advantage in terms of performance and security. The heart of the terminal is made of two chips: one manages the security and sensitive devices (eg. keyboard, readers), while the other manages the applications and communications. The design of this new platform combines the highest levels of security with the market’s most advanced feature set to provide the best possible payment solution for end-users.
The PCI-PED 2.0 certification was achieved by Ingenico’s ICT200 range following tests at Germany’s T-Systems ITC Security laboratory, one of the foremost testing facilities recognised by the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council (PCI SSC). And the PCI-PED 2.0 standards set out the latest requirements for physical and logical security for chip and PIN card transaction devices.
Joel Chevillard, Senior Executive Vice President for Payment Solutions at Ingenico, said: “We are very proud to have been the first company in our market to achieve PCI-PED 2.0 approval for a CounterTop terminal. The ICT200 series not only establishes itself as the market’s leader in security and performance, but also opens opportunities to build out a compelling consumer service proposition as the market evolves.”
Ingenico is a partner of the PCI Europe conference in Paris on 3rd February 2009.
