New Delhi, 18 December, 2008 – UK based, Telesoft Technologies, a market leader in providing reliable and cost-effective Telecommunications, Monitoring, Homeland Security and Intelligence solutions, has formally announced the opening of its telecom laboratory in India to assist integration and rollout of new partner products in the region. The lab has Telesoft’s complete range of products allowing local customers to quickly integrate and test software applications and ensure network compatibility in real world conditions.
“Feedback from the top 50 Telecom equipment vendors and application developers over the last two years has consistently been that to be successful we have to have a strong local commercial and technical presence, the right pricing and above all the willingness to partner to drive products to market quickly. Our OEM and SI customers rightly demand fast time-to-market for their services to meet the enormous growth rates in this economy,” said Gurpreet Dogra, India Country Head for Telesoft Technologies. “Our Noida laboratory staffed with local specialists allows customers a fast way of integrating their telecoms applications into our platforms, allowing them to feed the insatiable demand with their services”
Telesoft has already established its sales and support office in India and partnered with distributor Soanar earlier this year. Telesoft’s recent successes in India include Pre-Paid Mobile IVR Applications using the OKEFORD Media Platform and OSS Billing Verification deployed using Telesoft’s HINTON passive probe products.
“We chose India for our expansion plans due to its fast growth and willingness to accept new technologies”, said Telesoft Technologies’ Sales & Marketing Director, Andy Evripides. “Local resources here allow us to show our zest for innovation and our determination to ensure our partners’ solutions integrate seamlessly with the telecoms network and quickly provide a return on investment.”
India is currently one of the fastest growing economies in the world with telecom subscribers base growing at a very high pace. Recent figures from Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) showed that India added 10.1 million mobile subscribers in September 2008, taking the total number of subscribers to 315 million. Analyst ISuppli estimates India’s wireless subscribers will grow to 715 million by the end of 2012 a compound annual growth rate of 25%.
“With such huge numbers joining the mobile networks in India, we see immense business potential for new and extended data, voice and video services based on Telesoft Technologies’ products,” added Ms. Dogra.
Telesoft Technologies sees huge potential for Location-Based Services (LBS) in the Indian market and wants to showcase its capabilities to the Indian Telecom industry in this key area. Geographical location of mobile subscribers has become an important topic with profound implications for a wide range of applications, known generically as Location-Based Services (LBS).
Alongside the commercial opportunity for LBS applications, legal and social obligations – such as lawful interception and intelligence-related data acquisition, and public Emergency services – also depend on the acquisition of subscribers’ geographical location information. These services can be extremely valuable, both for gathering intelligence and for the support of value added services (VAS).
Telesoft Technologies aims to assist Indian telecom application developers and equipment manufacturers to quickly deliver compact powerful telecom systems that make a real difference to network subscribers throughout India.
Telesoft’s latest product offerings in India include:
OKEFORD Media Platform
A powerful IVR solution, used in major mobile networks in India for customer care services like pre-paid mobile top-up
HINTON Interceptor
For Homeland Security and Lawful intercept solutions, at the forefront of the national and international fight against criminal and terrorist threats
HINTON Monitor

MPAC Telephony Cards & Protocol Software

As per industry analysts, the potential for LBS has only recently started to be exploited, and the value associated with these is likely to increase significantly in the coming years. Analyst firm ABI Research predicts growth in commercial LBS from $111 million in 2008 to $2.2 billion by 2013.
