Winter Weather Slows Pace Bus Service

Poor driving conditions result in service delays, particularly in south and southwest suburbs
Icy roads and traffic incidents have necessitated the closure of several streets and highways, resulting in moderate to severe service delays for Pace service through Friday morning’s AM Rush period, with the south suburbs and Joliet area hardest hit. As a result, service is running well behind schedule on multiple routes as we have had difficulty getting buses into some areas to operate service. We are maintaining constant contact with local and regional transportation and public safety officials, as well as IDOT, to monitor conditions and adjust as needed to any additional road closures, detours, or traffic incidents.
We advise that riders allow for plenty of extra time when travelling this morning, and that they exercise extreme caution when walking to bus stops because of the conditions. We also suggest use of our WebWatch system, available at www.pacebus.com, for real-time bus arrival prediction information.
We have no specific incidents to report; this is a general advisory that service is running behind schedule and will continue to do so until road conditions improve.
