Brilliant Telecommunications Expands Executive Management Team with New Hires in Operations, Sales and Engineering

Executive management additions position company for growth
and expanding business priorities

Campbell, Calif.-December 30, 2008-Brilliant Telecommunications, Inc., a developer of next-generation synchronization and timing solutions, today announced the addition of three seasoned executives to further strengthen the Brilliant management team as Brilliant expands its presence in key markets around the globe.

Douglas (Doug) Halbert, Jr., brings more than two decades of experience to his role as senior vice president, global operations for Brilliant. In this role, Mr.Halbert will be responsible for overseeing Brilliant’s global operations activity while ensuring products are available to meet the market demand. Previously, Mr. Halbert held executive management roles at SkyStream Networks (acquired by Tandberg), Acterna and Agilent Technologies. During his tenure at Acterna, Halbert was the lead architect of an operations strategy that successfully streamlined the organization into a more competitive enterprise that delivered consistent improvements in gross margins and other measures of Acterna’s financial performance.

William (Bill) Reid-a seasoned sales executive with a proven track record-joins Brilliant as worldwide vice president of sales. In this role, Mr. Reid will be responsible for all sales activity including the Americas, Europe and Asia. Prior to joining Brilliant, Mr. Reid served as vice president of worldwide sales for several technology startups. In these roles, he was also responsible for establishing distribution partners in Asia, EMEA and the US. Mr. Reid has also held key executives roles at Kagoor, which was later acquired by Juniper Networks, Covergence, Luminous Networks which was acquired by Adtran, and Cisco.

Philip Kruzinski joins Brilliant from OnSite Systems, as senior vice president of engineering. In this role, Mr. Kruzinski will assume overall responsibility for carrier-class product development efforts including new system architectures and platforms. Mr. Kruzinski has also held executive management roles at Luminous Networks, Alidian Networks and Nortel/Bay Networks.

Each of these appointments will report to the president and CEO, Dr. Charles Barry.
