Imagination, Innovation, Conviction and Dedication Keep Company Among Most Attractive ”Employers of Choice” Yet Again

INDIA — January 05, 2009 — Compuware Corporation (NASDAQ: CPWR) today announced that it has earned the “diversity and multiculturalism” top honor as part of the “101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For” award program. The program is sponsored by Michigan Business and Professional Association (MBPA), in which Compuware also earned its eighth consecutive overall selection as one of “Metro Detroit’s 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For.”

MBPA, which represents more than 20,000 businesses and 160,000 employees, annually honors leading Michigan companies–large and small–which are committed to innovative human resource practices that create great places to work. The selection, recognition and awarding of Metropolitan Detroit’s 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For allows businesses to showcase their best practices.
“Compuware continues to excel as a great place to work, supporting employees of all races and backgrounds,” said Jennifer Kluge, MBPA Executive Vice President. “The company’s longevity on our list and its excellence in diversity are attractive draws to both finding and keeping outstanding talent.”
This year’s awards included 11 “Elite” categories, including the “Diversity and Multiculturalism” category awarded to Compuware. According to MBPA, Elite award recipients “represent innovative and progressive human resources initiatives.”
Compuware’s diversity program is led by a full-time Director of Diversity and includes a corporate diversity statement; targeted diversity outreach, recruitment, mentoring and internships; inclusion training; community outreach and a supplier diversity program. Compuware also has very strong employee-initiated resource groups created around an aspect of common social identity. Current employee resource groups are organized for African American, Chinese, Indian and Latin American cultures, as well as a Compuware Women’s Association and a Military Veterans group. These groups help Compuware attract and retain the world’s most talented employees, support community initiatives and identify and foster business opportunities.
Compuware’s overall “Best and Brightest” designation reflects the company’s strong emphasis on supporting employees’ work and personal needs worldwide. The company’s employee services and programs include work-life balance resources, wellness initiatives, charitable programs, career pathing, two-way communication vehicles, along with professional development and training.

“Compuware has a strong and proven record of treating employees as the company’s greatest asset,” said Laura Fournier, Compuware Executive Vice President. “We heavily invest in our employees, who, in turn, invest back into the company. Receiving these designations highlights the strength of Compuware’s mosaic of talent, ability and value, and we are honored to be recognized in this very public way.”
