Many TriNet Customers Also Experience Growth, Rapid Hiring

TriNet, a leading provider of human resources outsourcing and consulting services to small and medium-sized companies, announced today that the number of new customers joining TriNet beginning January 1 has increased more than 40 percent as compared to the same period last year. Additionally, demand for TriNet’s services has enabled the company to exceed $100 million in net revenue for fiscal year of 2008 for the first time in its history.

TriNet equips companies with the payroll, benefits, and human capital processes they need to become leading destinations for top talent within their respective industries, while minimizing areas of employer-related liability that particularly flare up during turbulent economic times. These factors enabled TriNet to increase its sales results even in a down economy, adding a total of 4,452 new employees to its customer base as of January 1st and representing a 40 percent increase over the same period last year.

“Our dramatic growth demonstrates that small and medium-sized companies are outsourcing their non-core functions like HR to optimize around their key differentiators and growth drivers,” said Burton M. Goldfield, TriNet’s president & CEO. “Our customers are focused on attracting the best talent in their industries, while protecting themselves against regulatory, budgetary, and regional changes in business.”

Goldfield added, “Despite the enormously difficult economy, we’re seeing companies that are expanding their workforces — and top talent continues to be focused on the benefits, training, and infrastructure provided by prospective employers.”

According to TriNet’s 2009 HR Trends Report, conducted in November, more than two-thirds of smaller businesses plan to hire talent in 2009 due to attrition or growth.

The survey found that nearly half of respondents think the soft economy will make it easier to hire in 2009. Conversely, nearly one third think it will be harder because top talent will be in even more demand as companies focus on retaining their best employees.

Many of TriNet’s customers expect to keep hiring as well. For example, Inside Track is a company that provides coaching and student retention services for both public and private universities. The organization has continued on a steep hiring ramp.

“Inside Track’s markets are strong and demand for our services is accelerating, so we are growing,” said Alan Tripp, founder & CEO of Inside Track.

“In good times or bad, a talented workforce is essential for small firms,” added Burton M. Goldfield. “Small business owners will have to be especially creative in recruiting talent in an uncertain economy.”
