SiS662, SiS771 to be strong fighters at Computex 2006
Computex Taipei, June 6, 2006 — SiS this year at Computex, demonstrates two superior integrated chipsets, SiS662 and SiS771, on Intel P4 platform and AMD platform respectively. Visitors will be able to experience the superior operating performance through these two live platforms. Besides, motherboards equipped with SiS662 chipsets and made by well-known companies like Asus, Abit, ECS, DFI, Foxconn, MSI, PC Partner, and Shuttle will also be showcased in Motherboard Demo Area. Most important of all, it would be the first time that SiS’ next-generation integrated chipset for AMD platform–SiS771 being introduced to the public.
Following gains in market share of SiS661, SiS expects its SiS662 integrated chipset supporting PCI Express interface to become next shinning star in the mainstream market. It is specially designed for Intel® Pentium® D and Intel® Pentium® 4 FSB800 processors, which not only supports dual-core processor, 64-bit operating system, but also support DDR2-667. Embedded with the advanced Mirage™ 1 graphics core, SiS662 supports DirectX 7.0 with its hardware technology and even supports DirectX 9.0 with its software to perfectly playback 3D and DVD. Moreover, SiS662 supports PCI Express x 16 configuration to provide 4GB/s single channel transmission bandwidth, which is much faster than the traditional AGP8X interface can provide. This feature enables players to upgrade their systems easily and thoroughly. In addition, SiS307 video bridge chip combined with SiS662 will present a better viewing performance on DVD or HDTV by connecting to LCD monitor or CRT monitor.
SiS771 is SiS’ first chipset embedded with graphics core—Mirageâ„¢ 3— to support DirectX9.0 and especially designed for AMD Athlonâ„¢ 64 X2 and Athlonâ„¢ 64 FX platforms. With HyperTransportâ„¢ technology, AMD platform which is combined with SiS771 enables to provide 8/16 bits data and 8GB/s bandwidth to connect chipset itself to AMD Athlonâ„¢ 64 Series CPU. SiS771 also supports the latest PCI Express x 16 configuration to provide up to 4GB/s single transmission bandwidth, or 2 times the bandwidth of AGP 8X. Also, SiS771 combined with SiS307 video bridge chip presents even better quality on DVD or HDTV by simply plugging in LCD monitor or CRT monitor.
Both of SiS662 and SiS771 represent SiS’ next generation solutions for Intel and AMD platform, and will be emphasized at the upcoming Computex. SiS is going to impress you with the high performance and extremely advanced quality of those two chipsets. Just come and share with SiS at Computex 2006.
