SiS to disclose the potential of digital entertainment at Computex 2006

Computex Taipei, June 6, 2006 — SiS today announced the theme of booth’s design at the upcoming Computex. It is going to officially enter the world of digital entertainment with the idea of “Anytime, Anywhere with SiS Technology.”

Digital entertainment these days becomes the most popular issue in IT industry. No matter Intel’s Viivâ„¢ or AMD’s Live! platforms disclose the core development of “digital home.” SiS, as the worldwide leading IC designer, provides enhanced solution for these two CPU platforms and has been playing very important role in this field. The diversified product line that SiS holds covers all you needs in developing digital entertainment products including chipsets for desktop PCs, notebook PCs, server boards and embedded systems and also DRAM modules and WLAN. With such feature, SiS, compared to others, obviously has better qualification to enter the digital entertainment market.

This year at Computex, SiS no longer displays its product categories according to different functions they have, but classifies them into 3 different applications in daily lives. Booth design integrates almost all of the products which equipped with SiS technology, and separates into 3 scenes in you daily life covering Life-Style, Business, and Shopping Mall. Through such special booth design, visitors enable to be aware of the concept SiS would like to convey. There is a “Game Zone” specially designed for visitors’ playing Microsoft’s Xbox360 gaming console, which is integrated with SiS’ outstanding multimedia chips. On the other hand, SiS also sets up a display area for DRAM Modules, WLAN, branded motherboards, embedded server boards, notebooks, and Thin Clients, all of which express SiS’ success in developing innovative technology.

In order to emphasize the application of its products in 3 different scenes in your lives, SiS cooperated with several customers to display their embedded products with SiS technology. Samsung Network MFM (Multi Function Monitor) 400Pn series and Sindy HDTV adopts SiS741CX/SiS963L chipsets, Sesol adopts SiS552 in its webpad branded Hipad, Aopen uses SiS661FX/SiS964 in Mini PC named Slim A2 Tower, ECS uses SiS661GX/SiS964L in its notebooks, Asus adopts SiS756/SiS964L in its notebooks, and also, Intel desktop platform equipped with SiS662/SiS966, AMD desktop platform equipped with SiS771/SiS966 chipset.

In Notebook PCs demo area, SiS displays several customers’ notebooks which have been integrated with Intel Pentium M platforms with SiSM661MX. Customers include Acer, Asus, Clevo, Hitachi to Lenovo. In addition, NEC-branded notebook using AMD Turion 64 platform and SiSM760 chipset will be displayed in this area.

In Motherboards demo area, you will never miss SiS’ next-generation SiS671 integrated chipset designed for Intel P4 FSB800 platform, and SiS771 integrated chipset designed for AMD Socket AM2 platform. Other motherboards from ECS, MSI, PCCHIPS……which are equipped with SiS761GX to support AMD Socket AM2 processors will also be shown in this area. Besides, motherboards from Asus, Axper, Aopen, Fujitsu Siemens, and WinFast, which embedded with SiS756 and SiS761GX chipsets and support Socket939 and Socket754 interfaces, will be displayed; motherboards from Asus, Abit, ECS, DFI, Foxconn, MSI, PCPartner, and Shuttle, which adopt SiS662 chipset and for Intel platform, will also be exhibited in this area.

SiS’ server board is expected to be the spotlight in demo area. SI78 server board combined with SiS756/SiS966 chipset to support AMD Opteronâ„¢ platform, and is SiS’ first success in developing server board market. It demonstrates SiS’ advantage of being leading company in the development of chipset for PCs.

In Embedded demo area, you will see SiS’ reference boards—Eagle I and Eagle II—which equipped with SiS741CX/SiS964 and SiS741CX/SiS966 respectively for IPC and Thin client. Besides, SiS also displays several customers’ boards which combined with SiS embedded chipsets—SiS741CX?SiS661FX,and SiS661CX. LianTec?Maple?ICP?Lie-On,and iBase are all SiS’ partners in co-developing IPC and Thin client. In addition, SiS proudly has its SiS746FX/SiS963L chipset been adopted by Japanese company—Map in developing a certain type of gaming machine. The board of this gaming machine also will be discovered at SiS booth. HP and Fujitsu Siemens both adopt SiS741CX/SiS964 chipsets in their Thin clients, and Maple on the other hand adopts SiS741CX/SiS963L chipset. All of the above-mentioned products will be displayed in Embedded demo are.

In WLAN card demo area, USB Dongle, Mini PCI Module, and CF card which have been designed based on SiS163/163U chips under 802.11b/g or 802.11a/b/g interface will be displayed. Markers include Cameo, CC&C, TP-Link, KingNet, Qcom, Alpha Network, Pronets, Tenda, and Zioncom.

In DRAM module display area, visitors can experience the so-called full set of DRAM module from high-end to low-end spec. SiS has DDR2-800?DDR2-667?DDR2-533 and DDR-400 for both desktop PCs and notebook PCs. The compatibility?reliability, and quality of SiS’ DRAM modules are all above the requirements and have been accepted by many customers.

As usual, SiS will also set up a meeting room in Hyatt Hotel at Room 1007 to have a more comfortable place for customers.
