Symantec ’s Veritas Configuration Manager Earns Prestigious Codie Award
Symantec Corp. (Nasdaq: SYMC) today announced that Veritas Configuration Manager (formerly Relicore Clarity) was awarded the 2006 Codie Award for Best Systems Management Solution by the Software and Information Industry Association (SIIA). Veritas Configuration Manager is the industry’s only data center change and configuration management solution capable of automatically discovering, mapping, and tracking changes to application and server components in real time. The Codie Award celebrates outstanding achievement and vision in software, education technology, and digital content. Award recipients are selected through a rigorous review process conducted by a combination of industry peers and journalists to identify leaders and innovators across the industry.
“This acknowledgement underscores the importance to IT organizations of comprehensively understanding their data center server and application environment — and tracking any changes so they can take active control over that environment,” said Henri Isenberg, vice president, server foundation and APM product group, Symantec Corp. “Symantec is honored that an elite panel of industry influencers and our peers have recognized Configuration Manager as the preeminent systems management solution.”
The Codie Award holds the distinction of being the only peer-recognition award program in the industry. For 21 years, the Codie has remained the leading honor for the software and information industry’s finest products and services. This year, winners were chosen from more than 1,026 nominations submitted by more than 500 companies — breaking the nominations record set in the 2005 awards.
“This 21st Annual Codie Awards continues our tradition of celebrating the best products in the software and information industry,” said Ken Wasch, president of SIIA. “Being a winner among so many fine nominees is a solid achievement. I congratulate all of the companies.”
