Proper benchmarks allow enterprises to evaluate the speed and performance of SIEM technology, including Mean Time To Remediate (MTTR) and the system’s ability to handle large amounts of data, both crucial to achieving PCI compliance and meeting operational goals. During this SANS Institute webcast, Eric Knapp of NitroSecurity and J. Michael Butler of LPS will discuss how enterprises can use industry benchmarks for evaluating SIEM systems, including speed, capacity and accuracy. Additionally, SANS Institute will release its SANS Analysts Program white paper, “Benchmarking SIEM,” during the webcast.

Attendees will also learn how to:
Properly size SIEM technology for security, compliance and business goals;
Analyze SIEM related MTTR metrics to mitigate risk and minimize operational and financial impact; and
Calculate the required response time to quarantine, block, route and control accounts, services, configurations, processes and privileges.

NitroSecurity has integrated its SIEM technology (NitroView ESM) with its database activity monitoring product (NitroView DBM) to allow enterprises to achieve network and database visibility by correlating database activity with logs, events, flows and user identity, even across pooled applications. As a result of NitroView, enterprises can significantly reduce the risk of web application and network attacks in order to minimize data loss and achieve PCI-DSS compliance.
