Qantas Airways and Tourism New Zealand have launched a new tactical campaign to complement Tourism New Zealand’s brand campaign for 2009. Qantas Airways is now offering travelers round trip non-stop flights from Los Angeles and San Francisco to Auckland, New Zealand, for just $798 (plus taxes and fees) available for travel from March 14 – September 21, with ticketing by February 27, 2009.

“The partnership with Tourism New Zealand supports the launch of their LifeBack Promise campaign and is designed to stimulate interest and encourage travel to this beautiful destination,” said Wally R. Mariani, Qantas Airways Senior Executive Vice President, The Americas and Pacific. “Our Qantas daily non stop flights to Auckland provide passengers a comfortable and relaxing travel experience en route to complement the rejuvenating experiences they can expect on their visit to New Zealand.”

Annie Dundas, vice president for Tourism New Zealand in The Americas said, “New Zealand has never been a better value for U.S. West Coast travelers. With such a low priced Qantas air fare and the value of the New Zealand dollar, travelers have an opportunity to visit New Zealand and take advantage of four and five-star hotels selling for just $150 a night. Since it is summer in New Zealand, now is the perfect time to enjoy New Zealand.”

Qantas offers 47 flights a week from the U.S., including 38 from Los Angeles (to Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane), five from San Francisco, a daily direct service from JFK and four from Honolulu. In October 2008, Qantas inaugurated the first A380 service to Los Angeles featuring aircraft interiors designed by internationally renowned industrial designer and Qantas Creative Director Marc Newson. The Qantas A380 is configured with 450 seats, including 14 in First Class, 72 in Business Class, 32 in the newly introduced Premium Economy Class and 332 in Economy Class.
