A 2009 outlook from T-Mobile CEO and new CTIA Chairman Robert Dotson, an innovative mobile solution that is dramatically improving the bottom line for a national company whose field service fleet includes thousands of technicians, and a look at the extraordinary efforts of an everyday citizen who used his cell phone to stop crime and save a life, are featured segments in this month’s “Wonder of Wireless” (WOW) webcast, produced by CTIA-The Wireless Association®. The webcast is now available for viewing and includes several video segments that highlight a variety of wireless related topics involving the mobile enterprise, emergency rescues, significant public policy milestones, and much more.

Specifically, this month’s webcast highlights a one-on-one “Insider Interview” with Robert Dotson, T-Mobile CEO and new CTIA Chairman. Dotson discusses industry trends, and provides insight into upcoming public policy discussions, the opportunities ahead for the industry in working with President Obama’s Administration, and how G1 and Android are impacting the wireless industry.

The “Wireless at Work” segment of the February WOW webcast features an example of how wireless technology is revolutionizing the way one of the nation’s largest windshield repair companies does business. Safelite Autoglass is realizing tremendous savings and increased productivity with the aid of innovative mobile applications that enable repairs to be handled in an efficient and paperless fashion. Additionally, Safelite is deploying GPS technology to allow its field technicians and support staff to better manage their work day and, ultimately, improve customer service.

The “Wireless Lifesaver” story recounts how a Georgia man used his cell phone to call 911 and assist in the capture of a criminal after he spotted him carjacking and abducting a woman nearby. And, the WOW “Policy Point” investigates the hot topic of mobile broadband and how this cutting-edge technology is improving the lives of consumers across the country.

CTIA is the international association for the wireless telecommunications industry, representing carriers, manufacturers and wireless Internet providers.
