CyberTrails (www.cybertrails.com), a provider of managed information technology services, has successfully passed the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70 (SAS 70) Type II examination.
Why is SAS 70 so important? http://www.cybertrails.com/Corporate/SAS.aspx
The report underscores CyberTrails’ adherence to rigorous, industry-accepted auditing standards for service companies. This is the second year in a row that CyberTrails has attained this highly regarded certification.
“In this current economic climate, it is critical that our customers and prospects trust we have the necessary safeguards in place and are working to the highest standards to ensure their information is safe and secure in our environment,” explains Jim Audette, CEO of CyberTrails.
Changes in the regulatory environment in recent years, including those brought about by the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, require companies to implement controls that ensure the reliability of their data. SAS 70 Type II examinations can help confirm that access to information is internally regulated and limited by physical controls and safeguards.
“By leveraging the controls we have in place, we continue to add additional value because now our clients are not required to implement the same level of controls and procedures within their own IT infrastructures,” says Audette.
The certification process includes design assessments and operating effectiveness tests of CyberTrails’ policies and procedures, system availability, environmental controls, physical security, logical security, problem/incident management and infrastructure change management.
