Live DVB-H interactive mobile TV services at MWC

SIDSA the International provider of Digital Broadcasting technologies, has
joined forces with Abertis Telecom and DMT to provide live DVB-H
interactive mobile TV services during the Mobile World Congress 2009 in
Barcelona between February 16th and 19th

Ref. CN0906 – Madrid, Spain, February 16th 2009 – SIDSA and DMT, the
International DVB technology providers, are providing a complete DVB-H
platform and several transmitters to Abertis Telecom, the Official Mobile
TV Network Partner for MWC, so live mobile television is available on any
DVB-H enabled device in the show. Moreover, a collection of interactive
services over DVB-H are being broadcast to enhance the end-user experience
of watching TV on the move.
SIDSA and Abertis Telecom are both participating in the Spanish-funded
Furia project, related to advanced broadcasting technologies and
interactivity. Some of the results of the project will be demonstrated
during the show.
SIDSA’s platform is a fully-featured statistical multiplexing
ultra-compact DVB-H headend completely interoperable with all available
DVB-H enabled mobile phones in the market. Six live channels, among others
MWC Media Partners, will be broadcasted free-to-air covering the MWC area,
outdoor and indoor.
DMT is a leading provider of transmitters and gap fillers for Mobile TV
applications, with products particularly well targeted to the requirements
of such networks. SIDSA and DMT are collaborating in a number of projects,
like in the Russian Sverdlosk region, one of the first to provide
commercial digital terrestrial TV services in the country.
