“Slumdog Millionaire” maybe odds-on for victory at the Oscars this Sunday but “Frost Nixon” is the hot favorite for cybercriminals, according to Internet security company McAfee. “Frost Nixon” earns the dubious honor of being the most dangerous Oscar-tipped movie to search for in cyberspace.

Checking in on this year’s Oscar nominees can be seriously damaging to your PC. Cybercriminals are using Oscar nominees, and their images, to lure Internet surfers, looking for the latest gossip, pictures and screen savers, to “fake” Web sites that look legitimate.

Fans searching for the “Reader” star, Kate Winslet, “Kate Winslet pictures” and screen savers have a 20 percent chance of visiting a risky site and possibly having their PCs threatened by spyware, spam, phishing, adware, viruses and other malware. To stay on top of the latest Oscar gossip without the dangers, fans can use McAfee’s SiteAdvisor technology, a free Web download that automatically ranks Web sites and alerts users to potential dangers.
