Nu Tek strengthens management with new CEO Appointment

New Delhi, February 17, 2009: Nu Tek India Limited (BSE: 533015; NSE: NUTEK), a leading telecom infrastructure services provider has appointed Mr. Raghavendra Kulkarani as the new Chief Executive Officer of Nu Tek. Prior to this role, Mr. Kulkarani was the Director & Country Leader at Soma Networks.

Mr. Kulkarani’s addition to the management team further strengthens Nu Tek’s expertise and understanding of the telecom industry. With an experience of over 29 years in the telecom industry, both in India and overseas, he also brings with him a rich pool of knowledge and experiences from organisations like Lucent Technologies and Soma Networks.

Mr. Raghavendra Kulkarani on joining Nu Tek said, “I am indeed very excited to be a part of NuTek as I see immense opportunities for this company. The telecom sector is the most promising sector in India as there is a huge base of potential customers.” He further added, “Nu Tek is an organisation that can provide me a chance to play a key role in the growth of the company.”

Mr. Inder K Sharma, Founder, Nu Tek India Ltd. expressed his pleasure on the appointment, “Mr. Kulkarani with a vast experience in the sector brings to the table extensive management skills and emphasis on building the company strengths, both internally as well as externally. His management responsibilities till date have included organizational revitalization of the Services Team, Solution Engineering, Execution of state of the art latest technology, telecom infrastructure projects, planning processes, strategic collaboration with external technology sources and outsourcing, which are sure to take Nu Tek to better levels of performance.”

With an Engineering degree from Bombay University and being a certified Program Manager from Stevens Institute USA Mr. Kulkarani worked at Soma Networks the Services business unit with P & L responsibility and worked on setting up the first 3G CDMA network in the Caribbean for a startup. While with Lucent, he spent 4 years on international assignments in Australia, Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand. Prior to moving back to India to join Soma Networks.

With a CAGR of 56%, Nu Tek is looking at options of strengthening their management to tide through the effects of the financial meltdown from which no sector is untouched. Though the telecom sector has not been affected highly, the new CEO appointment was a strategic decision to continue Nu Tek’s endeavour towards fulfilling the necessity for better telecom infrastructure to satisfy the growing demand for telecom services.
