For Seventh Year In A Row, Sony Named #1 In Harris Interactive’s Annual Best Brands Survey

For the seventh year in a row, and the ninth time in the last 11 years, Sony has been named the number one brand, according to the annual Harris Poll survey of the best brands conducted by Harris Interactive®. This year’s poll reflects the results of an online survey of 2,351 adults conducted in the United States between June 7 and 13, 2006. Respondents were asked to name three brands that they consider the best, and in the 12 years since this question has been asked on The Harris Poll®, Sony has never been ranked lower than third. Sony led this year’s list followed by Dell, Coca-Cola and Toyota (Numbers 2, 3 and 4, respectively). The results of the survey were released yesterday.

“Sony’s continued top rating in the Harris Poll is a clear indication of the ongoing respect and admiration consumers have for the company,” said Andy House, Chief Marketing Officer, Sony Corporation. “This ranking reflects the combined power of all of Sony’s products, including electronics, entertainment and games.” Sony Corporation of America, based in New York City, is the U.S. subsidiary of Sony Corporation, headquartered in Tokyo.
