Azzurro HD, dubbed the “Meet Me” Point for Digital Video, joins the robust broadcast client base of Hibernia Atlantic, the only diverse transAtlantic submarine and terrestrial transport cable provider. Azzurro HD operates the first all digital, HD enabled aggregation and switching facility for broadcast quality video content in the USA. In addition, the company provisions, designs and manages video-centric fiber networks on behalf of its customers.
By ordering metro connectivity with Hibernia, Azzurro will be facilitating the contribution and distribution of premier sports content to customers on its Digital Switch. “As more and more name-brand content providers and service companies connect to Azzurro HD, the value we can deliver as a Meet Me Point for digital continues to increase,” says Francis G. Luperella, President of Azzurro HD. “We selected Hibernia Atlantic’s cable network as it provides security and flexibility that our customers depend on.”
“We welcome Azzurro HD to our growing family of broadcast clients,” continues Eric Gutshall, EVP of Sales and Marketing for Hibernia Atlantic, “including other broadcasters, content delivery networks, global financial firms, carriers and government agencies. Our customers rely upon our customized solutions, diverse network footprint, and unparalleled technical support to ensure optimum network performance. Azzurro HD will now have access to our 70 global PoPs for future business,” says Eric Gutshall. “According to Nielsen’s newest ratings, people are watching more and more video than ever via television, Internet and mobile devices. Hibernia sees this as a continued growth market as the demand for video continues to explode.”
