Company Leverages NEC’s Strong APAC Presence

NetCracker Technology announced today that it has identified the Asia Pacific region as a key growth area for the company. The company will be on hand this week at the 2009 Next Generations Telecoms (NGT) APAC Summit in Kuala Lumpur to discuss its significant momentum in and commitment to the region, and to address the needs of Asia Pacific-based operators.

NetCracker currently has a number of key customers in the Asia Pacific region including Telstra and Telecom New Zealand.

In 2008, NetCracker was acquired by Japan-based NEC Corporation. NetCracker intends to leverage its parent company’s strong Asia Pacific presence to demonstrate to regional operators the critical role that OSS can play in the creation, fulfillment, and delivery of innovative new services.

“Service providers in Asia/Pacific are pre-empting the global economic downturn by undertaking transformations of their businesses and networks to become much more efficient operationally and to generate opportunities in this globally shrinking consumption marketplace,” said Ms. Sandra Ng, Group Vice President, Asia/Pacific Communications, Peripherals and Services Research, IDC. “Vendors who have strong local presence, a comprehensive solution portfolio, and a track record of delivering value and services, in addition to the ability to provide further financial assistance, are very well positioned to help their service provider partners ride through this economic storm.”

NEC and NetCracker Joint Solutions

By combining NEC’s innovation in Network and IT infrastructure with NetCracker’s expertise in service management solutions, the two companies have recently launched a number of joint solutions that are designed to help service providers create and manage new services and boost profitability. These joint solutions — including Software as a Service (SaaS), Device Management, and Mobile Broadband — have significant value for Asia Pacific operators.

NEC and NetCracker’s joint solutions help service providers:
Deliver services faster and more efficiently
Increase operational efficiency and profitability
Develop new markets and new revenues
Increase success through partnering

According to Andrew Feinberg, President and CEO of NetCracker, “The Asia Pacific region has been a key contributor to NetCracker’s success in the last decade. With NEC’s partnership, our commitment and ability to support customers in the region is stronger than ever.”
