Atlanta – Digital Signage Expo 2009 (DSE), co-located with Interactive Technology Expo and the Out-of-Home Network show, was proclaimed “successful” by hospitality professionals in attendance. The conference and trade show, which ran last month, drew just over 3,000 attendees who had the opportunity to see a record-setting 188 exhibitors. The trade show floor was 19% larger than 2008, with over 58,000 net sf of exhibitions.
While attendance was down slightly from the 3,500 count a year ago, thanks to current economic conditions, DSE fared much better than other trade shows that have recently staged, an indication of the resilience of this new and emerging marketplace and the leadership position of the event itself.
Hospitality professionals in attendance were high quality decision-makers from among a broad variety of end-user business categories, a profile that has become the hallmark of this leading international event since its inception in 2004. Comments included:
“I was particularly impressed with the relevance and range of exhibitors in attendance. DSE provides a wide range of relevant seminars, a good way to access resources and gain exposure to leading information. In my opinion, a definite program to attend is the 1-Day Digital Signage Certification session.”
George Yunis, ARAMARK Corp.
“I highly recommend Digital Signage Expo to anyone in the hospitality industry who is planning a digital signage implementation, has a interest in starting their own Out-of-Home Network, or looking to integrate this technology with their existing AV/Tech business. It Is THE place to learn, network and view the latest technology.” – Kevin Culp, Gaylord Entertainment
“Digital Signage Expo was a huge success! With digital signage fast becoming more prevalent in movie theatres, arenas and museums, DSE is the place to see new technologies and discuss the current and future state of digital signage and interactive media.” – David Doyle, Regal Entertainment
“The 2009 Digital Signage Expo attendance and exhibition was a welcome surprise given the current economic climate. Our key focus this year was finding engaging digital signage solutions that would heighten the guest experience. By attending DSE, we gained a better understanding of how the technology actually works and how we could take advantage of this medium.” – Jerry Harris, The Georgia Aquarium
Chris Gibbs, President of Exponation, LLC, which produces Digital Signage Expo and its co-located shows said, “The increased number of exhibitors and our expanded conference program was a big draw for serious attendees. We hosted over 130 industry experts who presented more conference seminars, workshops and theater presentations than ever before. We understand that more and more people come to Digital Signage Expo to learn and to do business at the show.”
Looking forward, the East Coast regional version of DSE, DSE East will stage this September and will focus on east coast business opportunities including the highly concentrated government headquarters in Washington, DC.
Digital Signage Expo/East, Interactive Technology Expo/East and the Out-of-Home Network Show/East will be co-located at the Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC to run September 23-24, 2009.
