Half Of The 80’s Hitmaking Duo Makes His Long Lost 90’s Recording ‘Take Time’ Available To Fans For The First Time
After over 15 years, Air Supply’s Russell Hitchcock is finally ready to Take Time—making his long lost mid-90s solo recording available to fans for the first time via his website www.russellhitchcock.net.
Currently on the road with Graham Russell, the other half of the 80’s hitmaking duo, as another year of heavy U.S. and international touring gets rolling, the singer is very excited about the overwhelming response the 12-track collection has received since its early February release.
Fans from every continent and country Air Supply tours regularly are buying it and leaving positive comments—from Japan to Norway, Italy, Southeast Asia, England, the U.S. and Australia, where he and Russell first hooked up in the mid-70s.
Take Time was produced by Air Supply’s onetime bassist Don Cromwell and features a mix of pop and rock songs written by him and Minneapolis based songwriter Rick Baron. The newly remixed and re-mastered version also includes a special bonus cut–a brand new recording of Hitchcock and his daughter, Sydney Rose Hitchcock, singing a duet of “Only Time Will Heal A Broken Heart,” whose original solo version is also on the release.
“I was very proud of the work Don and I did on Take Time,” says Hitchcock, “but because of my commitment to Air Supply and our constant recording and touring schedule over the years, it was easy to set it aside and let it slip away for a long time.”
Amidst another hectic touring schedule, Hitchcock and Russell are squeezing in recording sessions to put the finishing touches on their long awaited next Air Supply recording. Having wrapped an incredible 2008 with a special December 19 appearance on the Fox TV hit “Don’t Forget The Lyrics,” hosted by singer and comic Wayne Brady, the group in 2009 will hit many cities in the U.S. in between jaunts to Japan, Brazil, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Antigua, Venezuela, Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong. In May, they are heading to Australia to perform shows for the first time with the Sydney Symphony.
